Bilateral relations
Bilateral relations between Luxembourg and Serbia
- On December 18, 2024, Prime Minister Luc Frieden and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić had a brief bilateral exchange on the sidelines of the EU-Western Balkans Summit.
- On July 3, 2023, Prime Ministers Xavier Bettel and Mark Rutte jointly visited Belgrade for a working visit. The agenda included meetings with the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vučić, and the Serbian Prime Minister, Ana Brnabić.
- On September 16 and 17, 2021, the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selaković visited Luxembourg for a working visit.
- From May 30 to 31, 2019, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel made an official visit to Serbia, the first of a Luxembourgish head of government since 2003.
- Following this visit, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić visited Luxembourg for an official visit on September 9-10, 2019.
Bilateral agreements
- A double taxation agreement was signed on December 15, 2015, in Luxembourg and came into force on December 27, 2016 (with an effective date of January 1, 2017).
- Air Agreement: Serbia is a party to the Multilateral Agreement on the Establishment of a European Common Aviation Area (ECAA). As a reminder, this agreement was signed on June 9, 2006, in Luxembourg and was ratified in Luxembourg by the law of April 14, 2010. It came into force on December 1, 2017.
- A bilateral convention on social security was signed on June 7, 2013, and it came into effect on November 1, 2014.
- A memorandum of understanding on police cooperation was signed on March 29, 2017, in Belgrade (entered into force the same day).
- The Agreement between the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Government of the Republic of Serbia regarding the exchange and mutual protection of classified information was signed in Luxembourg on February 4, 2020.
