New Ambassador presented his Letters of Credence to President Tomislav Nikolic and was received by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic
On Tuesday, 21 March, Ambassador Jean-Louis Thill presented to the President of the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, the Letters of Credence by which His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri appointed him as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the Republic of Serbia. The ceremony took place at the Palace of Serbia in Belgrade. Upon the presentation of his credentials, the Ambassador started to fulfil his duties as a non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Serbia.
The Ambassador was received on the same day by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, H.E. Mr. Ivica Dacic. During the discussion, M
inister Dacic expressed his gratitude for the continued support Luxembourg had extended so far to the European integration of the Republic of Serbia, conveying his expectation that the support would be maintained in the future as well.
In the talks, both sides estimated that the bilateral relations between the two countries were good and friendly, with room for their promotion. Furthermore, both sides expressed satisfaction with the upcoming visit by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Jean Asselborn to Serbia, on 28-29 March. The interlocutors agreed that there was a common interest to further deepen all forms of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the economic field.
Ambassador Thill thanked the Minister for receiving him, and for the readiness expressed by the Serbian side for the promotion of cooperation in all areas.
