Luxembourg supports public administration reform in Serbia

Published Tuesday January 21 2020

Since 2006, the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has supported Serbia’s European Union integration efforts through various technical assistance cooperation projects.

Since the adoption by Serbia of the Civil Service Law and the Law Establishing the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) in 2017, the Ministry has supported this initiative and explored ways to contribute to the sustainability of both Serbia’s reform efforts and NAPA.

On 15 January 2020, the formal opening of NAPA’s new premises dedicated fully to education and training of civil servants and public managers took place.  The Serbian prime Minister, Ms. Anna Brnabić attended the event and delivered the key note speech.

The Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs welcomes the Memorandum of Understanding signed in the fringes of this event between NAPA and EIPA Luxembourg, the Luxembourg branch of the European Institute of Public Administration ( https://www.eipa.eu/eipa-luxembourg/ ).

The Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has awarded a convention to EIPA Luxembourg to deliver training and other capacity building services in the Republic of Serbia as part of Luxembourg’s continuous support to this country.
